How confident is your child at school?

Once children have settled into a good school routine and are familiar with the work cycle, they understand what is expected of them and look forward to going each day. Parents however sometimes have concerns over the level of teaching and how well their child is supported, if they don’t automatically fit in with the system or their individual needs are not met. Academic success and positive learning are all desired traits and part of early learning. In private education where classes are smaller, parents still tend to worry about their child’s performance but equally want them to be happy.

Too much pressure can prevent a kid from getting good grades. They may be bright but if  something is on their mind, they may shut down and stop learning new information because they feel they can’t cope or  their needs are not being fully understood. Not only is this frustrating for both parents and teachers, it’s greatest impact is on the individual child and their day to day relationships.

The brain has been shown to have a powerful influence over positive thoughts. When we send positive beliefs and empowering messages to our mind, it starts to become part of our conscious awareness and results will improve. One of the best way ways for a child to grasp new information is to listen to music. When your mind is calm, it is open to receive new thoughts and feelings. THINK IT CD’s will help your son or daughter  improve self-esteem, learning will come with ease and without your constant prompting! To witness a marked improvement and see a happy child, full of self-confidence is very rewarding for both parent and child.

Children Develop Their Own Character As a child develops their own character it is important that they pick up the good habits of their role models, and generally make those habits a part of their own everyday behaviour. If you, as a role model, can accentuate your more positive habits and eliminate the negative ones, this will greatly aid the the creation of a positive outcome for your child.
Words and Actions Words and actions greatly impact on the confidence of children. Children, including adolescents, remember the positive statements from thier parents and carers. Phrases such as "I like the way you…" or "You are improving at…" or "I appreciate the way you…" should be used on a daily basis.
Be Generous With Praise Be generous with praise. Parents must develop the habit of looking for situations in which children are doing good jobs, displaying talents, or demonstrating positive character traits.

Remember to praise children for jobs well done and for effort.
